Basketball Australia has signed a two-year partnership with travel management company Stage and Screen Australia. The company will manage domestic and international travel for the teams and the organisation as a whole.

The partnership, commencing from September 2026 will take the Boomers and Opals through the major tournament window, from the 2027 FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup to LA28.

“We are excited to welcome Stage and Screen as a part of the AUS Basketball family and to support our athletes and staff as we travel across the world to compete,” said Basketball Australia Executive General Manager - High Performance Jason Smith.

“As our role in the landscape of international basketball increases, as does our need for agile and innovative travel. Having a company like Stage and Screen on our team to manage the complexities of global travel will allow our teams to move well and compete at their best.” Smith said.

“As the Boomers and Opals continue to deliver must-see entertainment, whether at home in Australia or competing in tournaments abroad, it’s fitting that Stage and Screen have come on board as a Supporting Partner," said CEO of Basketball Australia, Matt Scriven.

“Stage and Screen is a global company with decades of experience managing the dynamics of team travel and logistics. With the 2027 FIBA World Cup for the Boomers and the FIBA Asia Cup and Olympic qualification for the Opals ahead, we look forward to getting the partnership underway.”

Stage and Screen General Manager Australia Wonitta Atkins also welcomed the partnership.

“With more than 30 years of specialist experience in sports travel, our team will take care of every detail behind the scenes, so the Boomers and Opals can focus on one thing: bringing home gold.” Atkins said.

Other sports industry clients of Stage and Screen Australia include Paralympics Australia, Cricket Australia, Football Australia, Netball Australia and the NRL.
